THOUGHTS ON GIVING 4th Sunday of Lent “On
that same day after the Passover, on which they ate of the produce of the land, the manna ceased. No longer was there manna for the Israelites, who that year ate of the yield of the land of
Canaan.”(Joshua 5:11-12) This passage from Joshua may seem insignificant but it carries a most powerful message about the goodness and abundance of our Lord. Throughout the forty years that
the Israelites journeyed through the desert, God provided them with manna to eat. As soon as they were able to enjoy the fruits of the Promised Land the manna ceased. Likewise, God’s
blessings to us may change over the years but it is an important part of our spiritual growth and journey to learn to trust that God will always provide us with all that we need.

Heavenly Father, during this penitential season, we pray that the Blood of Jesus may kindle
in the hearts of our priests the divine fire of Your love by their devotion to the Eucharist. Mother Catherine Aurelia THOUGHTS ON GIVING 3RD Sunday of Lent
“He said to the
gardener, ‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none.’” (Luke 13:7) Are we like the barren fig tree? What does God find when He
searches for the fruits which we have given back?

support from individual and family contributions. Catholic Relief Services, the official overseas aid and development agency of American Catholics, used 75% of all contributions for development
projects* overseas. 25% of the moneys collected remain in the local diocese where they are used to support projects assisting the needy.
*Projects include agriculture projects to help farmers
improve crop yields and increase food security; water projects to make clean water accessible for communities; micro finance projects to encourage the growth of small businesses; mother and child
projects to provide basic health and nutrition education for families; and education projects to provide participants with opportunities to improve their livelihoods.
